The Department of Building and Construction Engineering Technologies at University of Al-Mustaqbal held today the Fourth Cities Forum, with the participation of faculty members, students, and representatives from urban planning directorates, municipal bodies, and the governorate. The forum featured a series of lectures and workshops on sustainable urban planning, urban development, housing, and infrastructure, with a special focus on the key urban challenges facing Iraqi cities — including deteriorating infrastructure, uncontrolled urban expansion, and the growing need for environmentally friendly and sustainable planning solutions. At the end of the event, the College Dean and the Head of Department delivered words of appreciation, followed by the distribution of participation certificates to speakers and attendees. Several participants expressed hope that this forum would serve as a foundation for future collaboration between the university and relevant governmental bodies to translate the forum’s ideas into practical applications. For his part, the Head of Department emphasized that “such events serve as an educational and practical platform — bridging academic knowledge with real-world challenges — and preparing students to become active contributors in the reconstruction and development of our cities.” University of Al-Mustaqbal — the No. 1 University in Iraq.
