The One Thousand and One Nights Resort in Baghdad hosted the World Prematurity Day Conference at EVA Hall, with a wide attendance of physicians, specialists, and representatives of health institutions, alongside the active participation of numerous pharmaceutical companies sponsoring this important medical event.
Professor Dr. Saad Hassan Mohammed Ali, a faculty member at the College of Dentistry at Al-Mustaqbal University, attended the conference, representing the academic sector and affirming the university’s commitment to following scientific activities of significant health and humanitarian impact. His participation aimed at keeping up with the latest developments in neonatal and preterm infant care and strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and the healthcare sector.
The conference included a series of scientific lectures addressing the latest global practices in caring for low-birth-weight and preterm infants, in addition to discussing the challenges faced by medical staff and ways to enhance the quality of services provided to this sensitive group. Pharmaceutical companies supporting the event also presented informational booths showcasing their relevant programs and products.
Professor Dr. Saad Hassan praised the importance of such conferences and their role in raising medical and community awareness, emphasizing that supporting these activities contributes to improving healthcare quality in Iraq and fostering collaboration between universities, health institutions, and the pharmaceutical industry.
The conference concluded with several recommendations that stressed the need to develop specialized care programs for preterm infants, expand medical staff training, and enhance the equipment and capacities of neonatal care units.
