Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit, the College of Law organized a panel discussion titled: “The Iraqi Social Protection and Women’s Law”, held on Monday, 1/12/2025, in the college hall – Humanities Building.
The seminar was delivered by Dr. Ali Jassim Al-Saadi, a faculty member at the College of Law, who addressed the legal framework for protecting women in Iraq and reviewed the main legislative mechanisms that guarantee women’s rights and enhance their role in society, in addition to the impact of national policies on ensuring social protection for vulnerable groups.
He also discussed the key challenges faced by legal and community institutions in implementing the Social Protection and Women’s Law, the importance of activating legal and community initiatives supporting women, as well as the role of international legislation in promoting women’s rights and gender equality.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the lecturer emphasized the necessity of adopting effective awareness programs to strengthen women’s rights and support efforts aimed at protecting vulnerable groups in society, thereby contributing to social justice and sustainable development.
