Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, and within the activities of the College of Law and the Committee for Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, the College of Law organized a panel discussion titled: “The Responsibilities of the Educational Counselor in Educational Institutions”, held on Tuesday, 2/12/2025, in the college hall – Humanities Building. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Ali Jassim Al-Saadi, a faculty member at the College of Law, who discussed the role of the educational counselor in schools and reviewed the key legal and educational responsibilities entrusted to them to ensure a healthy and safe learning environment, in addition to the impact of psychological counseling in supporting students and contributing to the development of their academic and behavioral performance. He also addressed the main challenges faced by educational institutions in implementing counseling and guidance programs, the importance of activating educational and legal initiatives to support students, as well as the counselor’s role in promoting positive values and effective communication within the educational institution. At the conclusion of the seminar, the lecturer emphasized the necessity of adopting effective training and awareness programs for educational counselors, and supporting efforts aimed at improving the learning environment and ensuring students’ psychological and social well-being, thereby contributing to enhancing educational quality and sustainable development.
