The Department of Student Activities, in cooperation with the College of Arts/Department of Media, organized a seminar titled “The Role of Media in Breaking Stereotypes About Persons with Disabilities.” The seminar was presented by Assistant Lecturer Sarah Hakim Finikh, Assistant Lecturer Muntadhar Hussein Ali, and Mr. Sajad Razzaq Al-Hilali. The seminar discussed the importance of media in promoting a discourse of rights and empowerment, and highlighted inspiring Iraqi examples that have succeeded in changing traditional perceptions of persons with disabilities. Dr. Ahmed Hassan Shakir, Director of the Department of Student Activities, emphasized the importance of such activities in raising community awareness and strengthening the culture of inclusion within the university.
