Al-Mustaqbal University leads the private universities and ranks third in Iraq in the UI GreenMetric classification for 2025 The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, announced that the university had obtained an advanced position in the UI GreenMetric global ranking for 2025, stressing that this year the university maintained its leadership with private universities in Iraq for the sixth consecutive year, and achieved the third place locally among 87 Iraqi universities that participated in this prestigious international classification. The President of the University explained that the Future University continued its progress at the global level as well, as it ranked 166 out of 1745 universities that entered the ranking this year, which represents a qualitative leap, especially with the increase in the number of participating universities by more than 300 universities compared to last year. He pointed out that the university recorded a remarkable excellence in the sustainability axes, as it achieved the first place in Iraq in the axis of optimal water use (WR) and the axis of education and scientific research (ED), which reflects the success of the university in promoting the rational management of resources and integrating the principles of sustainability in education and research programs. The UI GreenMetric ranking in the university evaluation is based on six main axes: infrastructure (15%), energy and climate change (21%), waste management (18%), optimal water use (10%), education and scientific research (18%), and on-campus transport (18%), which makes this classification a comprehensive indicator of universities' commitment to environmental standards, sustainability and green development. At the end of his statement, the President of the Future University congratulated the professors, associates and students of the university on this honorable achievement, appreciating the great efforts and institutional work that contributed to achieving this progress, stressing that the university continues to consolidate its position among the leading universities locally and internationally.
