The Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering organized a distinguished promotional campaign aimed at introducing students to the program and highlighting its scientific and humanitarian importance. The campaign witnessed broad participation from the department’s academic staff, including Assistant Lecturer Maryam Ghassan Ghafar, Assistant Lecturer Ghadir Haidar Abbas, and Engineer Aya Talib Hassan. The campaign included a detailed presentation about the nature of study within the department and the approved academic curricula, in addition to showcasing modern models of prosthetic and orthotic devices and the technologies used in their design and manufacturing. The instructors also provided extensive explanations to students regarding future career opportunities and the role of graduates in rehabilitation centers, hospitals, and healthcare institutions. The campaign also highlighted the program’s alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, by preparing graduates capable of improving the quality of life for patients and supporting their social reintegration. Goal 4: Quality Education, through adopting modern scientific curricula that keep pace with global advancements in medical technology. Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by encouraging students to innovate in designing advanced prosthetic and orthotic solutions. Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, by providing assistive technologies that support individuals with mobility impairments, especially those most in need.
