cybersecurity organized a training workshop titled “Fundamentals of Ethical Hacking,” presented by the student Zaid Ali Abdulkarim and supervised by Dr. Abdulkadhim Abdulkarim. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the core concepts of penetration testing and improve their practical skills in handling security vulnerabilities and using professional tools within a safe and controlled environment. The workshop covered the principles of ethical hacking, the stages of penetration testing, and various reconnaissance techniques, in addition to the use of several open-source tools for vulnerability analysis. Emphasis was also placed on the legal and ethical considerations associated with this field. The workshop witnessed strong engagement from the students, who asked several practical questions, reflecting their interest in developing their skills in information security. This workshop comes as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the practical competencies of students and connect them with the demands of the cybersecurity job market.
