Under the patronage of the President of Almustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani Scientific field trip for Medical Physics students to the Nuclear Medicine Department at Al-Sadiq Hospital (AS). In the framework of the Deanship of the College of Science at Almustaqbal University's efforts to link theoretical knowledge with advanced practical applications, a delegation from the Medical Physics Department conducted a specialized scientific field trip to the Nuclear Medicine Department at Al-Sadiq Hospital (AS). The student delegation, comprising students from the second and third stages, was accompanied by: Dr. Duaa Jaafar Asst. Lecturer Najwan Thaer Ali The primary objective of the visit was to enhance the practical experience of the students and provide them with the opportunity to directly observe the latest technologies used in radiological diagnosis and nuclear medicine. Key areas of focus and practical observation during the visit included: Learning about the types of radioactive materials used in nuclear medicine and the mechanism for their preparation and handling. Studying methods for the safe handling of radioactive materials and sources within the department to ensure occupational safety. Understanding the fundamentals of radiation protection applied to safeguard both workers and patients. Observing the use of advanced equipment such as the Gamma Camera device and nuclear imaging techniques. Discussing how radiation doses are calculated and ensuring their adherence to approved international standards. The accompanying faculty engaged students in rich scientific discussions and explained many practical applications, making the trip a comprehensive and fruitful educational experience for deepening their understanding of the Medical Physics specialization. The College Deanship extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to the management of Al-Sadiq Hospital (AS) and the staff of the Nuclear Medicine Department for their warm reception and great cooperation, which had a significant impact on the success of this scientific trip.
