Beneficial insects play a vital role in sustaining agricultural and environmental systems due to the essential biological services they provide. These insects significantly contribute to increasing crop productivity and reducing the dependence on chemical pesticides. One of their key functions is crop pollination, which boosts fruit production and improves the quality of various plants, including vegetables, fruits, and orchard crops. Furthermore, beneficial insects such as ladybugs and parasitic wasps help control agricultural pests by preying on harmful insects or parasitizing them, which limits pest outbreaks and reduces crop losses. This form of biological control is considered an environmentally friendly and safe alternative to chemical pesticides, which often leave harmful residues affecting human, animal, and soil health. Beyond agriculture, the importance of beneficial insects extends to maintaining ecological balance, as they contribute to nutrient cycling and enhancing soil fertility through their natural activities. Recent studies emphasize that supporting these insects—by planting attracting vegetation and minimizing pesticide use—is a crucial step toward achieving sustainable and more productive agriculture.
