The Department of Medical Biotechnology organized a scientific workshop entitled “Laboratory Safety and Microbial Control (Laboratory Standards)”, delivered by (Lecturer M.Sc. Suja Jawad Abid), as part of the department’s scientific activities aimed at enhancing students’ academic and practical knowledge. The workshop addressed the fundamental principles of laboratory safety, focusing on microbial control and proper handling according to established laboratory standards, ensuring the protection of staff and students from potential biological hazards. It also covered preventive measures, the proper use of protective equipment, and the importance of adhering to laboratory regulations. The workshop witnessed active participation from students through discussions and questions, contributing to a deeper understanding of the practical and theoretical importance of laboratory safety in scientific and medical work environments. This workshop reflects the department’s efforts to develop students’ practical and professional skills, linking theoretical knowledge with hands-on practices, and preparing qualified scientific personnel capable of working in medical and research laboratories according to the highest safety standards.
