College of Science Organizes a Scientific Seminar on the Occasion of the International Human Rights Day on Data Privacy and Information Hiding

On the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, the College of Science – Department of Intelligent Medical Systems at the University of Al-Mustaqbal organized a scientific seminar entitled “Human Rights, Data Privacy, and Information Hiding (Steganography)”, held on December 10. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Qusay Munir Diab, as part of the College’s efforts to raise awareness of digital rights and the importance of privacy protection amid the rapid advancement of information technologies. The seminar addressed the concept of human rights in the digital age, with a particular focus on individuals’ right to data privacy and the mechanisms for safeguarding it through information hiding techniques (Steganography), highlighting their role in reducing privacy violations and ensuring information security. It also shed light on the legal and ethical aspects associated with the use of such technologies and their significance in supporting fundamental rights and freedoms. The event was attended by a number of faculty members and students, who engaged in constructive academic discussions on ways to employ modern technologies in a manner that balances technological progress with the protection of human rights. At the conclusion of the seminar, the organizers emphasized the importance of continuing to hold such scientific and awareness-raising events, given their effective role in promoting a culture of human rights, enhancing awareness of digital responsibility, and reinforcing the concepts of data privacy and information protection within the academic community.
