The Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies organized a university awareness campaign entitled “Promoting a Culture of Water Resource Conservation and Rationalizing Water Consumption.” The campaign was organized by Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Salah Hadi and Assistant Lecturer Elaf Jassim Mohammed, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of rationalizing water consumption and preserving it as a national resource and a shared societal responsibility.
The campaign aimed to promote positive behaviors related to the optimal use of water within the university campus and the wider community, reduce water waste, and reinforce concepts of environmental sustainability, in line with the university’s educational and awareness-raising role in spreading environmental culture.
This campaign also contributes to achieving several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), most notably:
Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
Goal 13: Climate Action.
Goal 4: Quality Education, through awareness, guidance, and the dissemination of environmental culture among students and staff.
The campaign comes as a confirmation of the university’s commitment to supporting sustainable development pathways and building an aware academic community that works to preserve natural resources for future generations.
