The Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies organized a scientific activity for first-year students, represented by a scientific visit to the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center, aiming to enhance practical learning and link theoretical knowledge with real-world applications in the field of energy. The activity was conducted under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Dr. Ammar Abdul-Kadhim Fathi, with the participation of Lecturer Ali Yaseen Kazem, Engineer Abdullah Mirza Hamza, and Engineer Mohammed Rafi Khudair. The supervising team provided comprehensive explanations about the center’s activities, laboratory devices, and research equipment, with a particular focus on solar energy technologies and clean energy systems. During the visit, students were introduced to the components of solar energy systems, the working principles of solar panels, and the importance of renewable energy technologies in achieving environmental sustainability and reducing reliance on conventional energy sources. The visit also highlighted the vital role of scientific research in developing innovative solutions to energy challenges. This scientific activity supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: SDG 4 (Quality Education): by enhancing applied learning and strengthening students’ scientific skills. SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy): through raising awareness of renewable and solar energy technologies. SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure): by promoting research and innovation in the energy sector. SDG 13 (Climate Action): by encouraging the use of clean energy sources to reduce environmental impact.
