The Department of Biology organized an awareness campaign entitled “In Your Hands, Life Begins Anew… Sustainability Equals Life”, under the supervision of Asst. Lecturer Zainab Nadhim Aziz and Asst. Lecturer Banin Maen Karim The campaign aimed to enhance environmental awareness within the university community by highlighting the importance of sustainability and the conservation of natural resources, and by encouraging positive environmental behaviors that contribute to environmental protection and pollution reduction, particularly through simple daily practices with sustainable impact. The campaign included the distribution of awareness brochures to the university’s staff and students, containing environmental guidelines and advice that help reinforce sustainability concepts and promote a culture of individual and collective responsibility toward the environment. This campaign is part of a series of scientific and awareness-raising activities organized by the Department of Biology in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through spreading environmental awareness and knowledge, and Goal 13 (Climate Action) by promoting behaviors that support environmental protection and mitigate the impacts of climate change. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq.
