Animals are characterized by great diversity in their shapes, sizes, and ways of life, ranging from simple organisms to highly complex ones possessing advanced systems such as the nervous and circulatory systems. This diversity reflects the ability of animals to adapt to different environments, whether terrestrial, aquatic, or aerial. Animal biology focuses on studying essential life functions such as nutrition, respiration, excretion, movement, and reproduction.
