Future University celebrates World Soil Day with a qualitative forum that enhances students' awareness of sustainability In confirmation of its firm commitment to environmental sustainability issues and its role in developing community awareness, and under the auspices of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdi, and under the supervision of the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, the Sustainable Development Division, in cooperation with the Bureau Affairs Department, organized the Future Ambassadors Forum for Sustainability and Soil Protection, coinciding with World Soil Day. The event witnessed a wide participation of about 400 students from sustainability ambassadors from various faculties of the university, in a scene that reflects the growing environmental awareness among university students and their keenness to actively contribute to initiatives supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially those related to the protection of ecosystems and the sustainable use of natural resources. The forum included an integrated awareness campaign for soil protection, in which Prof. Dr. Tahani Jawad Mohammed from the Diwan Affairs Department participated, focused on sound practices to preserve soil and reduce its degradation. Biodegradable agricultural support was also adopted in a practical step aimed at reducing plastic pollution and supporting the principles of sustainable agriculture and the green economy. The students also participated in scientific field tours within the plant reserve at Al-Mustaqbal University, during which they were briefed on the characteristics of the soil and its types, its relationship with plants and biodiversity, and the role of the reserve in protecting the soil and reducing drift and degradation, in order to enhance the applied aspect and link the theoretical knowledge to practical reality. This event is part of a series of institutional initiatives implemented by Future University within the framework of its social responsibility, and its quest to empower students as ambassadors for sustainability and active partners in spreading the culture of environmental awareness, protecting natural resources and preserving the environment for future generations.
