The Faculty of Science organizes a joint chess competition between the departments of artificial intelligence and smart medical systems
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, the Faculty of Science organized a sports activity represented in the establishment of a joint chess competition between the Department of Artificial Intelligence and the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems, with the aim of enhancing cooperation and constructive interaction between the departments of the college.
The activity was held under the supervision of the Assistant Administrative Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Latif, and the head of activities at the college, Dr. Alaa Hadi, and with the follow-up of Assistant Teacher Hadi Salah, in a distinguished academic and competitive atmosphere that witnessed the active participation of teachers and students.
This activity is part of the activities of the Faculty of Science in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially the third goal: Good health and well-being, as chess sport has an important role in promoting mental health and developing the skills of concentration, logical thinking and strategic analysis.
The tournament was held according to the Round Robin system with a play time of 15 minutes + 10 seconds per player, and aimed to consolidate the spirit of friendly competition, and promote the culture of meaningful sports and extracurricular activities, in line with the vision of the Faculty of Science and the University of the Future in building an integrated university environment.
Al-Mustaqbal University is the first on Iraqi private universities.
