With rapid technological advancements, technological maintenance has become an essential element in the lifecycle of devices and equipment, whether in industrial, service, or even home sectors. Technological maintenance aims to preserve equipment efficiency, minimize breakdowns, and thus improve productivity and reduce costs. ⸻ 🔹 Definition of Technological Maintenance: Technological maintenance is a set of technical and engineering procedures used to maintain systems and equipment, ensuring their efficient and reliable operation. It includes preventive, corrective, predictive, and smart maintenance based on artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT). ⸻ 🔹 Types of Technological Maintenance: 1. Preventive Maintenance: This relies on regular schedules for inspecting devices and replacing parts before breakdowns occur. Example: Changing engine oil at specific intervals. 2. Predictive Maintenance: This uses sensors and software to analyze data and predict when breakdowns will occur before they happen. Example: Aircraft systems that detect malfunctions before they occur. 3. Corrective Maintenance: This is performed after a malfunction to repair the device and restore it to working order. Example: Repairing a computer after it has stopped working. 4. Smart Maintenance: This relies on artificial intelligence technologies and advanced analytics to obtain automated and rapid decisions. Example: Factories that use artificial intelligence to monitor production lines and automatically alert technical teams. ⸻ 🔹 Importance of Technological Maintenance: • Reducing equipment downtime. • Extending equipment lifespan. • Lowering operating and repair costs. • Increasing production efficiency and service quality. • Improving safety and security in the workplace. ⸻ 🔹 The Role of Modern Technology: Technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and big data analytics have revolutionized maintenance. Instead of relying solely on humans, systems themselves are now capable of collecting and analyzing data and providing automated recommendations.
