Department of Biology Launches an Awareness Campaign on the Future of Renewable Energy and Sustainable Solutions for a Greener World

The Department of Biology organized an awareness campaign entitled “The Future of Renewable Energy: Sustainable Solutions for a Greener World”, under the supervision of the activity coordinators Prof. Dr. Maher Ali Abbas, Assist. Prof. Dr. Amir Naji Ubaid, and Lecturer M.M. Zainab Nazim Aziz. The campaign was held as part of the department’s efforts to enhance environmental awareness and promote the concepts of sustainability and clean energy within the university community. The campaign aimed to highlight the importance of renewable energy and its vital role in mitigating the effects of climate change and reducing reliance on conventional energy sources. It focused on introducing the main types of renewable energy, such as solar energy, wind energy, and bioenergy, and explaining their contribution to achieving sustainable development and protecting the environment for future generations. The campaign included various awareness and guidance activities addressing the optimal use of clean energy, in addition to the distribution of informative materials that contributed to enhancing environmental culture among students and encouraging them to adopt environmentally friendly behaviors in their daily lives. The campaign witnessed positive interaction from students and participants, who expressed their interest in renewable energy and its significance in building a more sustainable future. This campaign come a series of scientific and awareness activities organized by the department, reaffirming its role in supporting environmental issues, strengthening social responsibility, and spreading awareness about the importance of transitioning toward renewable energy sources to achieve a greener and more sustainable world.
