Under the patronage of the esteemed University President and directly supervised by the respected Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences, in cooperation with the Middle Euphrates Environment Protection and Improvement Directorate, organized a scientific seminar entitled: “National Strategies Amid Water Scarcity Towards Sustainable Development”, presented by Senior Engineer Wiam Abbas Hussein. The seminar addressed the growing challenges facing water resources in Iraq, particularly in the Middle Euphrates region, and their direct impact on economic, social, and environmental development. It also discussed national strategies for water resource management, methods for rationalizing consumption, and promoting sustainable water use, as well as the role of governmental and environmental institutions in confronting the water scarcity crisis. The seminar witnessed active participation from attendees through interventions and discussions, contributing to raising awareness about the importance of preserving water resources and supporting efforts towards achieving sustainable development.
