About Department
The Department of Electrical Engineering techniques was established in the year 2023-2024 and for morning studies only according to Ministerial Order (17667) dated (19-10-2023) Electrical Engineering Department focuses on developing Curricula so as to keep pace with Modern Scientific Developments in the Field of Electrical Engineering, in addition to completing Scientific Laboratories Requirements, as well as promoting the Teaching Staff Skills, and creating appropriate conditions for Scientific Research that would enable the Department to effectively compete with other similar Departments, whether Local, Arab or International.
Besides, the Department seeks to highly qualifying Graduates who would be featured with Distinguished Education in which they do integrate Knowledge with Basic Skills, and thus our Graduates shall be deemed as notable Engineers and Leaders while performing their Mission, having the potential to pursue Lifelong Learning and meanwhile conducting Basic and Applied Research as well as Public Service.
Electrical Engineering Department aims to qualifying Engineering Personnel who could work at Electrical Power Generation Stations and to operate and maintain Electrical and Electronic Equipment attached to these Stations.
The Department Objectives can be summarized as follows:
1. Understanding the Basic Principles of operating Electrical Power Systems operate, starting from Generation Station all way to Loads.
2. Design, Implementation, Operation and Maintenance of the Control Systems related to Electrical Power.
3. Operating & Maintaining Motors as well as Generators of Electrical Power Systems
4. The ability to analyze Power Systems at Main and Secondary Generation Stations, taking the necessary measurements, as well as the ability to operate and control these Stations.
5. Designing the Laboratory Units that are quite necessary for the Graduation and Employment of Students
The department aims to develop highly skilled and specialized engineering graduates with a vast knowledge in the field of electrical power engineering to fulfill the ever increasing demand for this vital resource. To meet the industrial local, regional, and national needs the department keeps a close tie with the market needs and reflects that in the development of its graduates
Developing highly skilled power engineers that are capable of competing on the global arena. Enriching and nurturing cooperation with the private sector.
Establishing new tracks with the department to meet the latest trends in the market. Installing the design, deploy, and evaluate methodology in each student from the first day till graduation.
Nurturing scientific research via empowering department graduates to pursue higher studies and tackle cutting edge problems with real applicable solutions. Sculpting the concepts of being community focused and driven into the minds of the undergraduates where their graduation projects seek to shrink the gap between the industrial needs and the theoretical aspects.
