For advanced diagnostics, technologies such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) are utilized. The medical physicist adjusts the equipment and protocols to produce high-quality images while maintaining patient safety.

In treatment, radiation therapy is one of the most effective methods to destroy cancer cells. The medical physicist calculates the exact radiation dose and its spatial distribution to maximize tumor control while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. They also implement advanced modalities like proton therapy and 3D conformal radiotherapy.

Moreover, medical physicists contribute to radiation safety programs, perform regular quality assurance tests, and ensure the protection of both patients and medical staff.
