**Al-Mustaqbal University Hosts the National Conference on the Digital Transformation and Automation Project in Higher Education Institutions**
Al-Mustaqbal University hosted the proceedings of the **National Conference on the Digital Transformation and Automation Project**, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under the patronage of **His Excellency Minister Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi**, with the broad participation of presidents of public and private universities, alongside vice presidents, deans, academics, and students.
His Excellency the Minister was represented at the event by **Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahad**, Deputy Minister for Scientific Research Affairs, who delivered the opening speech. He emphasized that **digital transformation is a strategic choice to keep pace with global developments**, noting its role in enhancing institutional performance, achieving efficiency, transparency, and improving service quality within universities.
Dr. Abdul Dhahad also highlighted the **pivotal role of universities** in the success of this project, given their intellectual and technological capabilities, which can be leveraged to employ modern technologies in support of education and sustainable development.
In his welcoming remarks, **Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi**, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at Al-Mustaqbal University, conveyed the greetings of **University President Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi**, expressing the university's pride in hosting this prominent national event. He noted that **digital transformation represents a fundamental shift in the philosophy of university work**, aiming to create an intelligent and advanced educational environment that enhances performance quality and supports internationalization and university governance.
Dr. Al-Zuhairi added that **Al-Mustaqbal University has been a pioneer** in adopting digital transformation projects. Over the past years, it has implemented several digital initiatives across administrative, academic, and service domains, and is now working to expand its technological partnerships in line with future challenges.
The conference included a **technical presentation by Dr. Amir Thuwaini**, Director of the Information Technology Department at the Ministry, in which he outlined the details of the digital transformation project, its implementation phases, the challenges facing its execution, and the available opportunities for development.
The conference also witnessed the **distribution of unified electronic university ID cards** to a group of Al-Mustaqbal University students. A live pilot demonstration was launched, showcasing how the cards can be charged and used for electronic payments and purchases, under the supervision of the Deputy Minister, receiving enthusiastic engagement from the attendees.
At the conclusion of the conference, participants expressed their appreciation to Al-Mustaqbal University for its excellent hosting and organization of the event.
