Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi President of Al-Mustaqbal University, took part in the 11th International Conference organized by the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking. The event, titled “The 11th International Workshop on UI GreenMetric World University Rankings,” was hosted by Université Côte d'Azur in Nice, France.
The conference brought together over 300 participants, including academic leaders and international experts in university rankings, sustainability, and green initiatives. Discussions focused on institutional practices supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the vital role of the UI GreenMetric ranking in encouraging universities to adopt effective environmental policies.
Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi chaired several sessions during the conference, where he presented Al-Mustaqbal University’s experience in sustainability and environmental stewardship, highlighting its efforts to implement environmental standards as part of its strategic plans.
The event concluded with the awarding of an official certificate of participation to the University President. In addition, several meetings were held with representatives of universities from the UK, Germany, Italy, and France, aimed at fostering academic partnerships in the fields of sustainable education and environmental collaboration.
Al-Mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq.
