In accordance with the directives of the esteemed University President, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Dhari Al-Bayati, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Oil Industries, participated in the first day of the OIGATECH Oil and Gas Technology Exhibition, held at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds.
The opening ceremony was attended by a representative from the Parliamentary Committee on Security and Defense, officials from the Ministry of Oil, and a number of invited dignitaries. The event was held under the auspices of the Honorable Prime Minister of Iraq.
The exhibition featured approximately 66 international oil companies specializing in various areas of the oil and gas industry. During the visit, Dr. Al-Bayati met with representatives of a Chinese company specializing in the manufacture of oil-related chemicals, as well as with representatives from TALAyTECH, an Iraqi company headquartered in Erbil and Basra that specializes in the complete manufacturing of oil refineries within Iraq.
This participation reflects the department’s commitment to strengthening ties with the industrial sector and supporting the university’s vision of aligning higher education outcomes with labor market needs and the latest technological advancements in the oil and gas sector.
