The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research witnessed a significant event marked by the official launch of the Digital University ID, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The event was attended by several academic and governmental figures, including the Chairman of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, senior ministry officials, presidents of public and private universities, the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, along with a large gathering of university students.
In his speech, His Excellency emphasized that this initiative is part of the Ministry's comprehensive digital transformation strategy. He pointed out that over 120 electronic systems have been adopted to cover various aspects of the academic environment, including student services, resource management, education, and inquiries. He further stated that the smart digital ID represents a qualitative leap within the broader strategy of digital transformation and smart governance in higher education institutions.
University of Al-Mustaqbal took part in this significant event with an official delegation that included Prof. Dr. Abbas Abdul Ali Al-Bawi, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and Dr. Ameen Mohammed Kitab, Assistant Dean of the College of Engineering for Scientific Affairs, in addition to the attendance of 12 students from various colleges within the university.
His Excellency also personally oversaw the distribution of digital university IDs to a number of students, including a group from the University of Al-Mustaqbal, highlighting the Ministry's commitment to actively involving students in this pioneering digital experience.
The conference featured presentations on the Ministry’s digital transformation environment, along with live demonstrations illustrating the functionalities and benefits of the digital university ID in facilitating services and improving administrative efficiency.
The event concluded with the Minister reaffirming that this achievement represents a strategic step towards the internationalization of higher education in Iraq, enhancing its global reputation, and fostering international partnerships and recognition in global rankings and academic databases.
