In line with the directives of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, to promote social awareness and strengthen humanitarian values, the Department of Forensic Evidence – College of Science organized an awareness campaign titled “Domestic Violence and Its Impact on Individuals and Society.” The campaign was supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Abdul Hussein Habbanah, Head of the Department of Forensic Evidence, with the participation of faculty members and students.
The campaign aimed to shed light on the issue of domestic violence in its various physical, psychological, and social forms, highlighting its negative effects on families and communities. It included interactive discussions and educational lectures focused on prevention strategies and promoting mutual respect and understanding within families.
Participants emphasized the importance of academic and social cooperation to combat all forms of violence and to foster a culture of dialogue and peace as a foundation for building a safe and sustainable society.
This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
