Psychological stress among young people is a very important topic, especially in light of the rapid changes taking place in the contemporary world, which negatively impact all members of society, particularly young people.

First: Causes of psychological stress among young people:

1. Academic pressure: Frequent exams, difficult curricula, and high parental expectations.
2. Family problems: Such as family disintegration or a poor relationship with parents.
3. Unemployment or fear of the future: Anxiety about not getting a job or achieving one's ambitions.
4. Social media: Negative comparisons with others and cyberbullying.
5. Economic pressure: Weak financial status or the need for assistance in supporting one's family.
6. Romantic relationships: Failure in relationships or the pressures of an unbalanced love.

Second: Symptoms of psychological stress:

Constant anxiety and tension.
Sleep disturbances (insomnia or excessive sleep) and appetite disturbances.
_ Poor concentration and academic achievement.
_ Frequent headaches.
_ Irritability and excessive emotions.
_ Feeling frustrated or depressed.
_ Social isolation.

Third: Ways to reduce psychological stress:

1. Organize time and improve study or work skills.
2. Exercise regularly.
3. Talk to trusted people (such as family, friends, or a psychologist).
4. Avoid comparisons on social media.
5. Develop coping skills such as meditation or relaxation exercises.
6. Seek professional help if the condition worsens.

Fourth: The role of family and society:

• Family: Providing emotional support, empathy, and understanding.
• School and university: Providing a supportive environment and psychological counseling services.
• Community: Promoting awareness of psychological conditions and developing personal and social coping skills.
