As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s program to monitor the implementation of biosafety and biosecurity guidelines in educational institutions, Al-Mustaqbal University welcomed a specialized ministerial team on the morning of Monday, June 2, 2025. The visit aimed to evaluate the safety measures adopted within the academic environment.
The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Mundher Fadel Hassan, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, who expressed his warm welcome and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to applying the highest standards of biosafety and biosecurity to create a safe and healthy learning environment that aligns with academic quality standards.
The visit included a field tour of the university’s laboratories, including those of the College of Agricultural Technologies, where the team reviewed procedures for storing and handling chemical and biological materials, ensuring compliance with national and international standards. The evaluation also covered the college’s internal policies aimed at maintaining a sustainable and safe scientific environment.
The ministerial committee expressed its satisfaction with the level of preparedness and praised the efforts made by the university, particularly by the Department of Medicinal Plants and Natural Products, which plays a vital role in handling sensitive biological materials that require strict safety protocols.
This visit comes as part of a series of inspection tours conducted by the ministry to promote a culture of safety in Iraqi universities and ensure the continuity of the educational process in risk-free environments, positively impacting the quality of both education and scientific research.
