The Sustainability Ambassadors in the Forensic Evidence Department organized a voluntary awareness campaign to highlight the dangers of social media addiction and its impact on mental health, under the supervision of Fatima Tawfiq and Fatima Habib.
The campaign included distributing awareness brochures and engaging students in discussions about the negative effects of excessive social media use, such as addiction, social isolation, depression, and sleep disorders.
This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: “Good Health and Well-being” by promoting awareness of mental health, and Goal 4: “Quality Education” by spreading knowledge about responsible technology use. It also contributes to Goal 16: “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions” by mitigating the negative impact of technology on social interactions.
The campaign received significant engagement from students, who expressed their interest in digital awareness and the importance of maintaining a balanced approach to social media use in their daily lives.
