The Sustainability Ambassadors in the Forensic Evidence Department organized a volunteer awareness campaign on suicide, its causes, and prevention methods. This initiative was led by Lect. Howaida Nazal and Lect. Fatima Tawfiq and took place across Al-Mustaqbal University, with the participation of students interested in promoting social awareness.
The campaign aimed to shed light on the psychological, social, and economic factors that may lead individuals to consider suicide, emphasizing the importance of psychological support and social solidarity in reducing this phenomenon. Informative brochures were distributed, including statistics, causes, warning signs, and intervention and support strategies, while also highlighting the importance of open discussions about mental health.
Raising awareness about suicide is directly linked to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), contributing to:
• SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by promoting mental health awareness and support.
• SDG 4: Quality Education, by educating students on coping with stress and handling crises.
• SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by fostering more conscious and supportive communities.
This campaign is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to enhance social awareness. The university is committed to supporting students’ mental health and well-being while encouraging initiatives that promote a sustainable and healthy learning environment.
Together, we raise awareness and support mental health for a more sustainable future.
