As part of the ongoing preparations for the implementation of Sustainability Week programs at the College of Education, the College's Sustainability Officer, Professor Hussein, accompanied by Professor Hassan, held a fruitful coordination meeting with the Head of the Department of Qur'anic Sciences and Islamic Education and a number of department professors to discuss the proposals and activities the department will present during the week's activities.
The meeting, held at the department's headquarters, witnessed an atmosphere of positive interaction and a keenness to activate the department's role in disseminating concepts of environmental and social sustainability from an Islamic and educational perspective. Attendees reviewed a number of ideas and initiatives, most notably:
Organizing a scientific symposium entitled "Sustainability in Light of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah."
Preparing awareness-raising brochures and videos by department students under the supervision of their professors.
Holding an educational exhibition showcasing examples of sustainable initiatives in Islamic history.
Organizing student workshops addressing the values of preserving the environment and natural resources.
Giving educational lectures that illustrate the relationship between religious values and the principles of sustainable development.
During the meeting, Professor Hussein emphasized the importance of highlighting the role of the college and its departments in supporting national and global trends toward achieving sustainability, praising the spirit of cooperation and initiative demonstrated by the Department of Qur'anic Sciences in this regard.
For his part, the head of the department and faculty members welcomed the active participation in the week, affirming their readiness to provide qualitative and impactful activities that reflect the integration of Islamic sciences with environmental and social awareness.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to prepare a detailed implementation plan to be submitted to the Sustainability Week Organizing Committee, in preparation for its approval and commencement of work in the coming days.
