in alignment with the Seventh Sustainable Development Goal (Affordable and Clean Energy), and under the supervision of the Head of the Construction and Building Department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mayada Waheed,
a scientific activity was conducted by faculty members: Lect. Sally Seelan Hussein, Lect. Mariam Mohammed Mousa, and Lect. Baneen Mohammed Hilal, for third-year students.

The activity focused on the casting and compressive strength testing of concrete cubes. It aimed to familiarize students with concrete mixtures, their essential components, and proper casting and handling methods according to recognized engineering standards.

Furthermore, the students were introduced to the importance of compressive strength testing, as it provides critical insight into the quality and reliability of the concrete mix in meeting standard specifications. The session also included proposals for conducting real-life tests in the well-equipped Concrete Laboratory at the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies.
