Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a remarkable scientific milestone, solidifying its position as a leading academic institution. According to the latest report published by the Scopus international database, which highlights research publication metrics of Iraqi universities, Al-Mustaqbal University ranked first among private universities in Iraq in terms of research output.
The report indicates that the university has published a total of 5,243 scientific papers indexed in Scopus, securing first place among private universities and 11th place overall out of 188 Iraqi academic and research institutions featured in the report.
In a statement to the university's media office, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, expressed his pride in this significant achievement, emphasizing that it reflects the continuous efforts of the university’s faculty and researchers in fostering a robust scientific and innovative environment.
He further noted that this accomplishment follows a series of recent successes, including recognition in the April report of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which highlighted the university’s excellence in publishing in high-impact Q1 and Q2 journals. Additionally, the number of citations for research affiliated with the university has exceeded 43,000, underscoring the global visibility and influence of its scholarly contributions. The university also stood out in the number of publications aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Professor Dr. Majdi concluded his statement by extending heartfelt congratulations to all university affiliates—faculty members, researchers, staff, and students—encouraging them to continue striving for excellence not only in scientific research but across all academic and administrative fields. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to achieving the highest standards of quality, innovation, and leadership, in alignment with its mission and strategic vision.
