In a remarkable academic achievement added to its growing record of excellence, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, announced that the university has ranked first among Iraqi universities, both public and private, in the 2025 edition of the US News & World Report – Best Global Universities Ranking—one of the world’s most prestigious rankings evaluating academic and research performance.

According to the results, seven Iraqi universities made it to the global list of 2,250 institutions this year. Al-Mustaqbal University secured the top national position, followed by the University of Sulaymaniyah in second place and the University of Baghdad in third. The University of Technology, Cihan University - Erbil, the University of Babylon, and the University of Basrah were ranked fourth to seventh, respectively.
