Under the directives of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, to enhance international presence and expand academic cooperation horizons, Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the second virtual meeting with the Secretariat of the Board of Directors of the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), held via the Zoom platform.
This participation came as part of the ongoing preparations to host the “EURAS Academy Forum” at the university campus during the upcoming month of October.
Representing the university in this meeting were Professor Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Dr. Samir Badrawi, Director of Cultural Relations at the university presidency. The participants discussed the outcomes of the previous meeting and confirmed the continuation of coordination regarding the organizational and scientific aspects of the forthcoming forum.
The Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) is a non-profit international organization concerned with promoting cooperation and communication among higher education institutions across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The union includes more than 150 universities and academic institutions, working to support academic integration among diverse cultures and the exchange of expertise and best practices in education. Al-Mustaqbal University actively participates in its Board of Directors.
The EURAS Academy Forum is a distinguished academic event held over two days, bringing together elite representatives from European and Asian universities, alongside numerous Iraqi universities, with participation from government officials, decision-makers, and representatives from institutions concerned with higher education and scientific research.
The forum is expected to address strategic themes that are today of utmost priority in the higher education sector, including academic accreditation, quality assurance, global rankings, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This initiative embodies Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to its pioneering role in promoting academic openness at the international level, supporting excellence pathways in education and scientific research, and contributing to consolidating Iraq’s position within the global higher education landscape.
