Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the third session of the Environmental Protection and Improvement Council, held at the Babylon Environment Directorate on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, with representatives from several official institutions in attendance.

The university was represented at the session by Engineer Khaled Kazim Al-Salihi, Director of the Sustainable Development Division. He discussed several important environmental issues, including: the problem of indiscriminate slaughter and the cessation of the model slaughterhouse; the preservation of water resources; wastewater treatment; medical waste; the spread of stray dogs; Babylon's green belts and environmental platform; and the activation of the Stray Dog Control Committee.

Al-Salihi, under the direction of the university president Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi emphasized the university's readiness to cooperate with relevant authorities through joint studies and research, in addition to implementing field awareness campaigns by sustainability ambassadors to contribute to environmental protection.


Al-Mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq.
