Al-Mustaqbal University Council held its eleventh session for the academic year 2024–2025, presided over by Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of the University, with the attendance of the vice presidents and deans who are members of the Council. The session also hosted Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision.
The session commenced with a speech by the University President, in which he commended the efforts of the Council members, faculty, and administrative staff, which have resulted in significant achievements across various fields. These include notable progress in global and national rankings, the advancement of scientific research, the organization of scientific conferences, the expansion of international partnerships, excellence in the field of sustainability, and the launch of a comprehensive developmental plan that has contributed to upgrading the university’s infrastructure in line with the standards of prestigious international institutions.
He also praised the outstanding results achieved by some academic departments in the ministerial assessment exams, emphasizing the importance of completing the exam records and graduation documents on time. He further called for reviewing preparations for the 2025–2026 academic year, stressing the formation of specialized committees within the colleges to follow up on safety and security measures.
In his directives, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi urged Council members to submit their academic plans for the upcoming year, including research activities, specialized initiatives, workshops, academic forums, and preparations for the scientific conferences approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
For his part, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, delivered a detailed presentation on the status of scientific research at the university. He highlighted publication metrics in Scopus and Clarivate, the volume of research in Q1 and Q2 journals, as well as the university’s plans related to sustainability, the activation of academic partnerships with reputable universities, graduate qualification programs, and the university’s standing in both local and international rankings. The University President provided his guidance on these topics.
The session also included feedback and suggestions from the vice presidents and deans, to which the President responded with directions for appropriate action.
The session concluded with a review of the items on the agenda and the issuance of the necessary recommendations
