The launch event was attended by the Governor of Babylon, Mr. Adnan Faihan Al-Dulaimi, together with the President of UOMUS, Prof. Dr. Hasan Majdi, vice presidents, deans, department heads, faculty members, staff, and students from the Ambassadors of Al-Mustaqbal University Sustainability Program.
The day began with a presentation delivered by Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, who outlined the camp’s strategic objectives, its role in advancing sustainability, and the preparations underway to ensure success. A key highlight was the announcement of the AI Hackathon for Sustainability, designed to provide students with a platform to showcase their ideas and apply modern technologies in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The program also featured a panel discussion with the Governor, the President of UOMUS, and the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Ammar Al-Husseini. In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Dr. Majdi emphasized the importance of this initiative as a dynamic platform for youth to exchange ideas, collaborate with partners across sectors, and contribute to Iraq’s sustainable future.
The session concluded with contributions from faculty and students, alongside a joint call to finalize preparations to ensure the camp’s success, reflecting UOMUS’s pioneering role and growing national and international reputation.
