As Part of Its Ongoing Efforts to Enhance Safety Standards and Develop Rapid Response Mechanisms in Emergency Situations, Al-Mustaqbal University Conducts a Field Simulation for Fire and Emergency Response in Cooperation with the Civil Defense in Babylon and in the Presence of the Director of Administrative Affairs
As part of its continuous commitment to promoting public safety standards and improving rapid response mechanisms in emergencies, Al-Mustaqbal University organized a virtual field simulation to confront fire incidents and emergency situations. The exercise was conducted in cooperation with the Babylon Civil Defense Directorate and attended by the Director of Administrative Affairs, along with a number of university staff and students.
The simulation aimed to raise awareness of the importance of adhering to safety measures, while also training both staff and students on proper procedures to follow during emergencies such as fires or sudden evacuations. The activity reflects the university’s dedication to ensuring a safe campus environment capable of facing challenges and safeguarding all its members.
The event included practical demonstrations of various scenarios simulating fire outbreaks in one of the classrooms. Students and staff were trained on the use of fire extinguishers, safe evacuation procedures, and effective communication methods with Civil Defense teams when requesting emergency support. The Civil Defense team also provided a detailed explanation on the importance of equipping buildings with safety tools and how to handle emergency injuries through immediate first aid.
In his speech, the Director of Administrative Affairs praised Al-Mustaqbal University’s remarkable efforts in organizing such pioneering field exercises, which he described as exemplary activities at the level of Iraqi universities. He stressed that this initiative reflects the university’s firm commitment to cultivating a culture of safety and its determination to provide a secure and comprehensive educational environment for both students and faculty members.
Representatives of the Civil Defense also commended the organization of the event and the awareness demonstrated by the participants, emphasizing that such joint trainings contribute significantly to enhancing the efficiency of the academic community and developing preventive plans that reduce potential risks during emergencies.
The simulation concluded with recommendations stressing the importance of holding such activities regularly and strengthening cooperation with Civil Defense to ensure sustained readiness. These steps are in line with Al-Mustaqbal University’s mission of instilling the principles of safety and prevention, while reaffirming its leading role as a pioneering academic institution in adopting innovative initiatives.
