Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, and in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, the College of Law organized a panel discussion entitled: “The Right to Health and a Healthy Environment as Part of Human Rights”, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the college hall – Humanities Building.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ali Jassim Al-Saadi, a faculty member at the College of Law and Head of the Human Rights Division at Al-Mustaqbal University. He discussed the importance of the right to health and a healthy environment as fundamental human rights, their role in enhancing quality of life and achieving sustainable development, as well as the national and international legal frameworks that guarantee their protection. He also emphasized the need to activate environmental and health legislation to ensure social justice and preserve human dignity.

This symposium comes within the framework of the College of Law’s efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 13 (Climate Action), by raising awareness of the importance of a healthy and sustainable environment as one of the pillars of human rights.

The session was moderated by Dr. Abdulrahman Abbas Adain.
