Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hussein Waheed Aziz, writes a scientific article explaining the concept of environmental sustainability and the appropriate environmental climate for life, stating that the Earth and its atmosphere belong to the current inhabitants of the planet, regardless of their areas of residence, as their vessel is one. Just as it is, it was the habitat for those who came before and will be succeeded by those who come after. This means that everyone enjoys its goodness and shares in receiving the results of living independently on its capabilities and resources. It has become certain that collective participation is necessary to sustain its integrity and then its success in honoring humans, plants, and animals with the beauty of its components. Sustainability in the environment includes such a concept based on benefiting without harm and enjoying without gluttony. In order to save this green orientation, the basic environmental goals related to sustainability can be outlined as follows:

First: Stop harming the Earth's climate and causing the deterioration of the ozone layer, maintain air quality, continuously monitor the conditions of the atmosphere, and work to raise the level of environmental awareness and consolidate the values of collective moral responsibility in preserving the Earth's atmosphere and its safety.

Second: Strongly adopt sustainability in the field of energy consumption, recycling, emissions, alternatives, and rationalizing its consumption, especially the sources resulting from it, as the energy sector is considered the largest cause of environmental pollution and a depleter of its resources.

Third: Take into account the balance between natural resources and their absorptive capacities on the one hand, and their investment on the other, in a way that preserves the rights of generations.

Fourth: Preserve the biodiversity of plants and animals on the one hand, and their numbers, habitats, and the sustainable use of their resources.
