In the framework of preserving intangible cultural heritage threatened with extinction, Dr. Angham Salim Mohammed carried out a field project to document traditional tattoo patterns in Babil Governorate. This project was implemented in collaboration with the Cultural Protection Fund (CPF) and in partnership with TARII (The Academic Institute for Research in Iraq), aiming to shed light on this rich and important aspect of Iraqi popular heritage. The project focuses on collecting and documenting the symbols, meanings, and stories associated with the art of tattooing, especially among women, as it represents a form of aesthetic and social expression that was prevalent in Iraqi society.
