Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Furat Al-Sultani, Dean of the College of Science, the Department of Cybersecurity organized the Student Encryption Hackathon as part of the activities celebrating Iraqi National Day.

The event opened with a speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Muthaffar Al-Zuheiri, Director of Academic Supervision, who congratulated the university’s students on the occasion of the National Day and praised the students of the Cybersecurity Department for their excellence in a vital and significant field in the era of digital transformation and information security.

The ceremony included a cryptography and decryption competition, where students engaged in various challenges using different algorithms. The participants showcased exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving abilities in deciphering codes.
At the end of the competition, the top three winners were honored in recognition of their outstanding performance.

The event also featured a recognition ceremony for the Sustainability Ambassadors from the Department of Cybersecurity, who actively participated in the initiatives of Sustainability Week. Certificates of appreciation were presented to acknowledge their efforts in promoting a culture of sustainability within the university.

The hackathon was attended by several faculty guests, as well as heads and rapporteurs of the College of Science departments, and a large number of students from the Department of Cybersecurity. The presence of the participating students added an atmosphere of enthusiasm and scientific interaction to the event.
