The Department of Biomedical Engineering is pleased to announce the preparation and publication of informational and instructional panels for the Burdick Atria 6100 ECG Machine, as part of our commitment to providing a learning environment rich with documented and up-to-date technical information.
The ECG machine is a pivotal device in cardiac diagnostics, and the new panels summarize the basic engineering and operational information about it.
About the Burdick Atria 6100 ECG Machine:
• Device Name: Burdick Atria 6100 ECG Machine.
• Manufacturer: Burdick (Mortara/Burdick series), USA.
• Primary Function: The device records the heart's electrical activity via surface electrodes, then prints and stores the ECG tracings necessary for medical diagnosis.
What do the new information panels include?
The newly prepared panels focus on the engineering and operational aspects critical to ensuring device efficiency and sustainability, including:
1. Components and Accessories: Identify the essential components required for operation, such as ECG cables/leads, disposable electrodes, printer paper, and batteries.
2. Preventive Maintenance Program: Highlight the necessary maintenance schedule (daily/monthly/annual), starting with daily cable inspection, monthly battery inspection and software updates, and ending with annual calibration and electrical safety testing to ensure accurate readings and user safety.
We invite all students and department members to review these panels and use them to deepen their technical knowledge of healthcare devices.
