Under the patronage of the Honorable Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, the official launch of the Electronic University ID for Iraqi university students was held, with the attendance of the Head of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, senior ministry officials, presidents of public and private universities, the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, and a large gathering of students.
In his speech, the Minister emphasized that the Ministry has taken a strategic decision to fully embrace digital transformation within the academic environment. This includes the implementation of more than 120 electronic systems covering student services, resource management, education, and inquiries, culminating in the launch of the smart digital university ID. He noted that this initiative marks a significant milestone in the journey toward digital governance in higher education institutions.
Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the event, represented by Professor Dr. Abbas Abdul Ali Al-Bawi, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and Dr. Ameen Mohammed Kitab, Assistant Dean of the College of Engineering for Scientific Affairs, along with 12 students from various university colleges, including the College of Agricultural Technologies.
The conference featured presentations and live demonstrations showcasing the digital transformation efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and the practical use of the new digital university ID. His Excellency the Minister personally distributed IDs to a number of university students, including students from Al-Mustaqbal University, highlighting the importance of this distinguished and pioneering experience.
It is worth mentioning that the digital university ID is part of the HEPIQ platform, developed by the Ministry, and contributes to the internationalization of higher education, strengthening global partnerships and enhancing the international academic reputation of Iraqi universities.
