Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education

The Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education was established within the College of Education at Al-Mustaqbal University during the 2024-2025 academic year. It is located on the fifth floor of the Humanities Building within the university campus. The establishment of the department was closely monitored by the university's founder, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Radhan Salman, who supervised the department and other academic departments within the College of Education.
The department has flourished thanks to the efforts of its dedicated professors, including Dr. Hashem Sayhoud Al-Mayahi, Dr. Abdul Jawad, Dr. Atheer Kareem Al-Hasnawi, Dr. Saeed Murad Al-Kuraiti, and others. Assistant Professor Dr. Hashem Sayhoud Al-Mayahi was appointed as the head of the department, and Lecturer Dr. Saeed Murad Al-Kuraiti was appointed as the department's coordinator.
The department recognizes the urgent need to prepare and graduate a cohort of holders of the Education degree in Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education to disseminate Quranic concepts and instill the honorable image of the Holy Quranic text. It also aims to prepare a specialized teacher with a balanced personality who is aware of his religious and educational role and is committed to the ethics of the educational profession, while encouraging enrollment in postgraduate studies to obtain Master's and Doctoral degrees, to supply government and private universities with successful teaching staff.
The Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education aims to prepare a generation well-versed in Qur’anic sciences, committed to Islamic values, and capable of utilizing Qur’anic and linguistic knowledge to serve society. The department strives to qualify specialists with scientific and methodological competence, enabling them to research, analyze, and teach effectively while fostering Islamic identity and enhancing dialogue and critical thinking skills. Additionally, it contributes to instilling ethical and educational values through a comprehensive academic environment that bridges tradition and modernity.
The Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education, through its faculty, head, administrative staff within the department, college, and university, seeks to achieve the following objectives:
1. Consolidating Quranic Concepts: To provide students with scientific knowledge and a sound methodology, and to instill Quranic concepts within them through the presented course materials.
2. Graduating Specialists in Quranic Sciences and Arabic Language: To prepare well-versed specialists in Quranic sciences and the Arabic language, capable of understanding the Quranic text at its phonetic, morphological, and syntactic levels, and to graduate them as bearers of the sciences of the Quran and the Arabic language.
3. Developing Arabic Language Skills: To provide students with the specific sciences and knowledge of the Arabic language, and to develop their abilities to use the language correctly in speaking and writing, thereby enabling them to enrich their knowledge in other sciences closely related to Quranic sciences.
4. Preparing Specialized Teachers: To prepare specialized teachers in Quranic and linguistic studies, and to provide them with the information that qualifies them to perform educational and instructional tasks efficiently and effectively.
