According to United Nations reports, more than one-third of the world’s land area is at risk of desertification, endangering the livelihoods of over 2 billion people. This phenomenon is not merely an environmental issue but a developmental one, directly linked to food, water, and health security. With the worsening impacts of climate change and increasing pressure on natural resources, the need for innovative and sustainable solutions has become urgent.
In this context, renewable energy has emerged as one of the most important modern tools that can be harnessed to combat desertification by providing clean energy sources to support land reclamation, water desalination, sustainable irrigation, and reforestation projects.
