President of University of Almustaqbal Participates in the 8th Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS)
Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of University of Almustaqbal, took part in the 8th regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), which was held virtually on Monday, July 11, 2025, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Mustafa Aydin, President of Aydin University in Istanbul and Chairman of the Union, with the participation of presidents and representatives of member universities via video conference.
This participation comes as a continuation of the appointment of the President of University of Almustaqbal as a member of the Board of Directors of the Union during the annual conference held in Istanbul, Turkey, in October 2024.
The meeting began with a welcoming speech by the President of the Union, followed by a review of remarks on previous meetings, then discussions on academic cooperation, student exchange, international partnerships, specialized research platforms, and sustainability issues. The outcomes of the previous meeting held in June were also reviewed.
During the meeting, the President of the Union praised the remarkable progress of University of Almustaqbal in the THE Impact Rankings within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing that this achievement is a model worthy of recognition and presentation in the Union’s activities.
For his part, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi expressed his appreciation to the Union’s presidency, affirming the commitment of University of Almustaqbal to continue its active role in the Union. He also pointed out that the university will host the EURAS Academy Forum on its campus in November, an important academic event for discussing global challenges, the role of higher education in addressing them, and showcasing university success stories.
The meeting also included a presentation by the Chair of the Next Gen Student platform about student activities and projects, including a project by student Qasim Jasim from the Department of Computer Engineering Technologies at University of Almustaqbal, who serves as a board member of the platform. The platform brings together international students to foster cultural exchange, ideas, and success stories among member universities.
The meeting was also attended by Professor Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Dr. Samir Badravi, Director of International Relations at the Presidency of the University.
